In the album, Vilayat Khan manoeuvres through difficult bandishes and gats with ease and expression. A bandish or gat is a melodic expression set in a specific raga. It is performed beside a rhythmic accompaniment like a table and a melodic accompaniment like a sarangi or harmonium.

About The Artist

His highly successful career spanned a time period of more than 40 years.
